NATSIWA

The National Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Women’s Alliance was founded in 2009 to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women to have an effective and powerful voice in policy. This group works with and for individual members, as well as aligned groups, to advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women’s rights and freedoms in all areas. In our collaboration with NATSIWA, it became clear that their logo needed to speak of the strength and support of these women. We worked with an indigenous artist to create a logo that told the dreaming story of the Seven Sisters, who protected each other and who fled into the sky to escape an amorous suitor.
