International Women's Development AgencyInternational Women’s Development Agency (IWDA) is an Australian non-profit organisation that creates positive change for women and their communities. The organisation’s practical and rights-based projects directly address poverty and oppression in developing countries. Viola has been working with IWDA since 2003, including a major brand refresh in 2007. Viola’s IWDA projects include publications, website, banners, brochures, fundraising campaigns, and newsletters as well as a number of sub-brands such as Global Youth Impact, IWDA Feast and IWDA GenderWise. The IWDA brand is distinctive, energetic, uplifting and friendly and uses photography with positive, smiling faces of the women they work with in developing countries.

ProjectAnnual Report |
How is this green?IWDA aims to achieve maximum visual impact with minimal environmental consequence and cost. A great example of Viola’s eco-design approach is the organisation’s annual report. Its fold-out cover incorporates both a calendar and four postcards. As well as serving as a reporting tool, this design has turned the annual publication into a beautiful gift to thank supporters. This multi-purpose element consistently ensures greater retainability and interactive usage as a marketing tool. An ISO 14001 compliant printer with an environmental-management system, using non-toxic inks and sealing varnishes, and 100 per cent post-consumer recycled paper prints the annual report. |

ProjectFundraising Brochure |

Its concertina format is designed for an efficient fit on press and does not require any glues or staples for binding. |

How is this green? An ISO 14001 compliant printer with an environmental-management system, using non-toxic inks and sealing varnishes, and 100 per cent post-consumer recycled paper prints all of IWDA’s publications. Careful consideration is taken into account when estimating print runs to reduce overprinting. |

ProjectNewsletter |
How is this Green? The IWDA newsletter is a dual-colour design that uses a different IWDA brand colour to distinguish each season. The two-colour printing saves on plates, ink and cost. A DL coupon is tiled on the side of the print run saving on resources and cost, again. An ISO 14001 compliant printer with an environmental-management system, using non-toxic inks and sealing varnishes, and 100 per cent post-consumer recycled paper prints the newsletter. |

ProjectSub-Brand |
IWDA FeastThe IWDA Feast was a major fundraising event for IWDA. It required its own branding that tied in closely with the IWDA brand yet created a distinctive look and feel for the event. |
