Anna Carlile BA, MA, Founding Director

Anna is the founding director of Viola Design. Globally, she plays an important role in promoting and educating fellow designers and commercial users about the need and tools required for environmentally sustainable design. Anna is the brain behind Design by Nature, the first online resource dedicated to environmentally sustainable graphic design.

Anna regularly shares her passion and knowledge for environmentally sustainable design at forums and conferences nationwide, including public-speaking engagements with Tourism Victoria, Melbourne Museum, ECO-Buy forums, and the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA). Her thirst for knowledge of issues she holds dear ­­– design, environmental sustainability and social change – ensures she’s at the cutting edge of each.

Joanna Gardener, BA (Hons), Art Director / Brand Strategy and Interactive Media

With more than 10 years experience in communication design, Joanna has a wide-ranging skill set, including art direction, branding and brand strategy, print, web and experiential design, illustration and motion graphics. Joanna has worked on a diverse number of exciting projects throughout Australia, Europe and the USA.

Kasia Pawlikowski, BA, PD, Senior Designer

Kasia has been an integral component of Viola since 2009 and has worked on wide-ranging and innovative design projects both locally (Brisbane and Melbourne) and internationally (London). She is currently studying law and in her ‘spare’ time volunteers for the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre.
